One Sweet Saturday

I had such a great day yesterday. I picked up Coia bright and early and headed over to the Biltmore to play some Golf. I personally love the game of golf. It's a great way to unwind, converse, and it's a fantastic stress reliever. I've been playing a little over a year now and let me tell you, I'm still hooked. The Biltmore was fantastic. The course was beautiful. Challenging obstacles, beautiful atmosphere, and basically, they make sure to spoil you. Coia didn't want to play so he basically drove the cart while I played the course. It was great. It was so relaxing. Also, I got my best score so far and got a Birdie in the second hole. (A Big Thanks to Coia and Kelsey for the great morning) That night I attended a family dinner celebrating Amy's grandfather's birthday. My parents prepared homemade fried rice and a delicious lo mein. After the food, conversation, and a round of Dominos with my competitive parents, Gerry and I watched Juno and I went home. What a great day....What a RELAXING day.

Unexpected-Ness...

Let's get to the point..I got in my car this morning and it didn't turn on. I don't get it. No lights were left on, It drove perfectly fine the night before, what's going on with my car? I took a look under the hood and there it was Watson....Battery Acid spillage. The freaking battery peed all over the place. I don't know how it happened but it didn't really matter. Fact is, I needed to get it fixed pronto. So, I went to the nearest auto store bought a new battery, replaced it, and I was on my way. Well that's it. There's no better place to be "stranded" than home.

Louie...

Well, for those of you who don't know, I love English Bulldogs. I have a Bully girl named Lola who is almost two years old now. She's a blast! and SPOILED rotten! Anyway, for some time now Amy and I have been discussing getting her a boy to play around with and to keep her company. Basically, a companion. Now, here's the thing. I don't really want to own any other type dog. I'm a Bulldog man! Amy on the other hand really doesn't want another Bulldog. Their a medium size breed, stubborn, and a bit of a handful as puppies. Basically, she wants a little dog.......ugh....

So, we compromised and decided on a "French Bulldog". (Small, Energetic, and it's got "Bulldog" in his breed) Luckily, during our trip to New York City we actually saw a couple walking their French Bully through Central Park and we had the opportunity to pet it, play with it a bit and get some feedback from it's owners on the breed. I have to admit, it was cool. It was a smaller version of Lola with "bat-like" ears. It was settled. Though my heart was set on a big fat boy, I was fine with the Frenchie. So we looked up breed info, breeders, prices etc. Then surprise! surprise! It's WAY too expensive! I thought that the English Bulldog was the most expensive dog I've seen but this one took the cake. It was way out of our budget so we just dropped the idea.

A couple of months later, the subject came up again about getting Lola a companion and this time i was victorious! Amy said, "You can get your fat boy" Yes!!! Another butterball around the house ...Score!!! I went everywhere...comparing prices, contacting breeders, making sure that the puppies were healthy and also, I had "Specifications". Lola is White and Fawn. I wanted the boy to be Dark Brown and White-and I wanted the little monkey chubby as can be. I kindly let my contacts know exactly what I was looking for and they were all keeping me posted on their litters.

Last Thursday on our way home, Amy and I stopped by one last pet shop to see if they had my butterball. Amy stayed in the car because we had Lola with us (I told you she was spoiled) I asked the guy if he had any bulldogs and before he could say anything I noticed a little punk standing all tough barking at me. The man noticed me staring at him and without my asking he took him out of the kennel and handed him to me. I quickly called Amy and told her to get out of the car and bring Lola with her. Once she saw him she melted. "Oh Kenny he's gorgeous!" she said, while Lola was trying to take him off my hands. While on the floor the little punk was pulling Lola by her leash and leading her around the pet shop. So, "Amy, do you want him?" I asked. "Are you serious?" she replied. "Do you want him?" I repeated. "Yes!!!" she exclaimed.

Basically, to make an even longer story short. Amidst our search for a Fat English bully we, found and welcomed to our family a French Bulldog Puppy we named Louie....

I might not have my butterball but hey, he's a funny little dude and Lola loves him! But honestly, I put a smile on my wife's face and that's all that truly matters to me most.
